My first attempt at a full scale head. I'm loving doing this one so far, it's sculpted in WED clay over a generic plastic head I picked up from a my FX materials suppliers.

The plan is to go the whole way and cast it and punch the hairs all that good stuff.

This is wonderful work! I have to ask though, how on earth do you get such a perfect finish on the clay, even in all the awkward places around the eyes and teeth and so on? I always have to polish the tool marks out in the cast but it'd save a load of time if I didn't have to do that.

WED clay loves water, so best thing to do is to use paint brushes in those tight spots and finer and finer sponges on the rest of it. It's a lot rougher in real life, the picture hides a lot of sins, hope that helps.

Oh I see, thanks for the info! I'll give that a try next time :)

Keep up the good work, I'm looking forward to seeing this guy cast and painted.

Man this is awesome. I'd love to get something like this in a prosthetic. Scare the crap out of some people.

THIS. IS. AWESUM!!!!

I can't wait to see what it looks like when you cast it. Is the mask going to be latex, perchance? And how are you going to cast it? Strip-mould in silicone and plaster? I FUCKING LOVE SILICONE *foams at the mouth*
